Buffalo Breeding herd

The start of our Buffalo herd goes back to the year 2002 where 10 heifers from Kruger National Park and 3 heifers from Madikwe Game Reserve were introduced, together with a Kruger Bull. Careful selection of the own mother stock through the years, where only the best animals were kept, in combination with the introduction of top Kruger bloodlines (Gravelotte Game, Hein Muller Wildlife, Massara Genetics) have enhanced the quality over the years and brought us to the prime herd we have today with many cows over 34” and tip to tip values up to 87”.

The introduction of our current Madikwe bull THOR in 2020 has lifted our buffalo breeding project to yet another level. Thor is a Klein Rooi son from Cottondale Game Ranch and grandson of Rooi, caught in Madikwe the same year and in the same group as the famous 53” bull Tyson.
